Overview
We are looking for a seasoned ERP Resource Planning and Workforce Management expert to play a pivotal role in a major enterprise transformation initiative. This position involves leading the design, deployment, and enhancement of resource planning capabilities within a new Group ERP platform implementation at PM Group.
The successful candidate will ensure the ERP system supports effective workforce allocation, capacity and utilisation tracking, and forecasting across our project delivery organization. The role requires collaboration with Operations, Project Delivery, Finance, HR/HCM, and implementation partners to develop future-state resource management workflows, governance, and reporting frameworks enabling business growth and operational excellence.
This opportunity is offered as a 12-month contract based in our Dublin or Cork offices, adopting a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Resource Planning and Management workstream throughout the ERP implementation lifecycle, including design, configuration, testing, deployment, and business adoption phases.
- Serve as the main business liaison for resource planning, workforce allocation, capacity management, and related requirements within the ERP program.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional leads, subject matter experts, and implementation partners to clarify and confirm resource management needs and future processes.
- Evaluate ERP solution designs and configurations to ensure they meet resource planning objectives and business operating models.
- Identify and address gaps between business requirements and ERP functionality, proposing configuration adjustments, process improvements, or system enhancements as needed.
- Define and validate requirements for reporting, analytics, and dashboards supporting resource planning, capacity forecasting, utilisation metrics, and workforce demand management.
- Support ERP testing, training, change management, and ensure readiness for adoption of resource planning features.
- Develop and implement resource planning processes that provide visibility into capacity, skills, utilisation, and forecasted demand.
- Establish resource allocation and prioritisation procedures that optimise deployment of delivery teams.
- Create workforce planning frameworks aligned with current and anticipated project demands.
- Drive resource forecasting, capacity planning, and utilisation processes using the ERP platform.
- Partner across Operations, Project Delivery, Finance, and HR to ensure resource data supports strategic decisions and growth plans.
- Define governance, controls, and performance metrics for organisational resource management.
- Facilitate the transition from implementation to ongoing operational management of resource processes and systems.
- Manage workstream planning, governance, reporting, risk mitigation, and resolution of issues.
- Coordinate dependencies with other ERP workstreams including Finance, HCM, Projects, and Reporting.
- Engage senior stakeholders to promote alignment, decision-making, and adoption of future resource management methodologies.
- Provide regular updates, recommendations, and escalate matters throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Project Management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is desirable.
- Over 10 years’ experience delivering ERP-enabled transformation programs, focusing on Resource Management, Workforce Planning, Resource Planning Systems, or Project Portfolio Management.
- Proven leadership of resource planning, capacity planning, or workforce management streams in significant ERP deployments.
- Background in industries such as engineering, professional services, consulting, construction, or project-oriented organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of resource allocation, capacity and demand planning, workforce forecasting, utilisation management, skills management, resource governance, and project resource planning procedures.
- Experience implementing or optimising Resource Management, PPM, PSA, or Workforce Planning software tools.
- Familiarity with systems like Deltek, Workday, Planview, Clarity PPM, Oracle PPM, SAP PPM/PS, or Dynamics 365 Project Operations is highly advantageous.
