Environmental Laboratory Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Environmental Laboratory Manager or Senior Chemist who will effectively oversee our analytical testing operations. This role is responsible for managing daily laboratory activities, ensuring strong adherence to quality assurance practices, leading technical teams, and complying with environmental laws and ISO standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the environmental analytical laboratory operations to guarantee precise, prompt, and regulatory-compliant testing of samples such as water, soil, and air.
• Supervise daily sample testing, organize work schedules, and ensure swift processing for chemical and physical analyses.
• Conduct and verify advanced chemical testing, signing off on analytical results.
• Maintain and update the Laboratory Information Management System while ensuring full compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, quality assurance and quality control protocols, and standard operating procedures.
• Lead and develop laboratory chemists and technicians, enforce comprehensive safety standards, and manage hazardous waste disposal effectively.
• Direct contracting efforts and support business growth initiatives within the laboratory services.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience in managing complex chemical analysis in an environmental laboratory setting.
• Strong knowledge of environmental sample testing procedures including water, wastewater, soil, and air.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems and ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and manage laboratory teams.
• Understanding of laboratory safety and hazardous waste handling protocols.
• Experience in contract management and business development in technical environments.
