About the Role
Join Wollondilly Shire Council's community-focused Ranger Services team in Picton, NSW, as an Environment Officer specialising in enforcement. This permanent full-time role offers 38 hours per week with regular fortnightly rostered days off. The position includes a salary starting from $87,734 per annum plus 12% superannuation, allowances for on-call duties, and access to a leaseback motor vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regulatory investigations and enforce relevant legislation.
- Perform routine parking patrols, including in school zones, and issue penalties for violations.
- Assist with the operation of the Council’s animal shelter.
- Support delivery of public education programs and community events.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Hold a current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence and a valid Working with Children Check.
- At least two years of relevant experience in regulatory enforcement roles.
- Proven experience in parking enforcement duties and issuing penalties.
- Ability to interpret, apply, and enforce legislation associated with role tasks.
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and prioritisation capabilities for daily operations.
- Experience preparing legal documentation such as evidence, notices, and orders.
- Excellent communication skills, including conflict resolution and community engagement.
Working Conditions
This role requires flexibility to work outside normal hours including on-call duties during weekdays and weekends as per roster.
