Role Overview
The Environment and Lighting Artist is responsible for designing visually engaging environments and lighting arrangements that enhance storytelling and contribute to the overall quality of scenes. Responsibilities include crafting detailed environments, configuring and refining lighting setups, developing the visual aesthetic of scenes, and collaborating closely with other creatives and technical professionals to ensure visual coherence across projects. The role includes working alongside compositing and shading teams to create consistent final images, resolving visual issues, and optimizing scenes for both performance and visual fidelity. This is a full-time, on-premises position located in Vijayawada East, requiring close coordination with the on-site team and adherence to project timelines and quality benchmarks.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong lighting and look development skills, able to convey mood, depth, and narrative through lighting techniques.
- Robust understanding of computer graphics and shading, with experience in CG pipelines, material creation, and rendering workflows.
- Knowledge of compositing processes, appreciating how render passes are combined to produce polished final visuals.
- Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Maya, Blender, Houdini, Unreal Engine, Arnold, V-Ray, Nuke, or comparable software applicable to environment creation, lighting, and compositing tasks.
- Solid foundation in artistic principles including color theory, composition, and visual storytelling, paired with a strong eye for detail and consistency.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, receptive to feedback, and capable of meeting deadlines within a production environment.
- Preferred educational background or training in animation, visual effects, computer graphics, or related disciplines. Candidates must provide an environment and lighting portfolio as part of their application.
