Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Enterprise Architect to serve as the guardian of our architectural integrity and lead our Design Authority. This role is based in Canberra or Sydney and is tailored for someone passionate about building a resilient, mature architecture that integrates business strategy, domain roadmaps, and sovereign operational requirements into our product design.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish core architectural guardrails, reference architectures, and foundational patterns for Cloud, Microservices, and Security, enabling a flexible yet consistent technical ecosystem.
• Maintain a comprehensive portfolio view of applications and assets, managing lifecycles to identify and drive modernization and eliminate obsolescence.
• Perform continuous assurance reviews at critical project milestones to confirm conformance with enterprise blueprints and non-functional requirements such as scalability and disaster recovery.
• Lead the Architecture Review Board (ARB), translating overarching business strategies into actionable, clear technical frameworks and execution plans.
• Offer hands-on advisory and deep technical troubleshooting during discovery phases to remove architectural bottlenecks faced by engineering teams.
• Mentor and guide solution architects and senior engineers, fostering technical alignment and enhancing capabilities across teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Must be an Australian citizen eligible to obtain and hold an Australian Government Security Clearance.
• Extensive senior-level experience in Enterprise or Solutions Architecture with a solid technical background in Infrastructure or Network Architecture.
• Proven track record working within high-security, high-integrity, or mission-critical technology environments.
• Advanced expertise across Infrastructure, Network, and Security domains, with the ability to critically assess and hold engineering teams accountable.
• Strong capability to customize industry architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, NIST, SABSA) to suit distinctive sovereign or highly regulated business models.
• In-depth practical knowledge of compliance frameworks pertinent to secure infrastructure such as ISM, IRAP, and ISO standards.
• Exceptional skills in stakeholder engagement and influence.
