Enterprise Architect – Cloud Native, Platform Engineering

Role Overview

We seek an experienced Enterprise Architect specializing in cloud-native platform engineering for a challenging, secure, and large-scale environment. This senior position involves leading the design, architecture, and initial deployment phases of robust cloud-native solutions, not limited to advisory functions but extending to translating requirements into actionable technical designs and collaborating closely with engineering teams through deployment and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive enterprise and solution architecture for complex cloud-native platforms.
• Translate diverse requirements from business, research, security, and infrastructure into scalable and sustainable technical architectures.
• Develop target-state architectures, reference frameworks, architectural principles, and establish technology standards.
• Create detailed high-level and low-level design documents, architecture diagrams, and decision records.
• Identify dependencies, constraints, risks, and technology gaps within the architecture.
• Implement architectural governance ensuring all deployments align with the defined target architecture.
• Collaborate directly with senior stakeholders, infrastructure, security, platform engineering, and application research teams.
• Design, deploy, and manage large-scale Kubernetes platforms across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Architect Kubernetes multi-tenancy, cluster management, workload isolation, and essential platform services.
• Utilize GitOps methodologies for platform operations, leveraging tools like Argo CD and Argo Workflows.
• Define and implement Infrastructure as Code strategies using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Crossplane, or similar.
• Develop automated provisioning, configuration management, scaling, upgrade, rollback, and lifecycle management processes.
• Architect highly available Kubernetes control planes for resilience and performance.

Candidate Profile and Experience

• Minimum 12 years of experience overall, with substantial exposure to enterprise architecture and cloud-native platform development.
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Kubernetes infrastructures, including complex workload and security considerations like air-gapped environments.
• Familiarity with high-performance computing, GPUs, data movement systems, AI/ML platform integration, and software supply chain management within enterprise contexts.
• Proven ability to work across diverse teams encompassing infrastructure, platform engineering, security, research, and software development.

Additional Information

This position requires an onsite presence in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role demands a high degree of responsibility from conceptual design through deployment and operational readiness, with a strong focus on secure and scalable cloud-native platform architectures.
