About the Role
Join HESTA in a key leadership role focused on advancing the ethical and strategic integration of Artificial Intelligence across the organization. As the Enterprise AI Enablement Lead reporting to the Enterprise Data Leader, you will spearhead the development and operationalization of AI governance frameworks designed to ensure responsible, risk-aware, and value-driven AI use throughout HESTA.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the enhancement and implementation of AI governance frameworks, policies, standards, and controls organization-wide.
- Conduct comprehensive AI risk, impact, and governance evaluations integrating ethical, privacy, security, and compliance requirements from project inception to deployment.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including business units, technology, risk, legal, and compliance to facilitate AI adoption that balances innovation with risk management.
- Embed AI governance practices across the entire AI lifecycle, including ongoing monitoring, assurance processes, and iterative improvements.
- Develop and maintain reporting mechanisms and dashboards that provide executive leadership with insights into AI adoption progress, risk profiles, and business impact.
- Stay informed on emerging AI regulations, industry standards, and best practices to keep HESTA at the forefront of compliance and preparedness.
- Champion responsible AI by fostering organizational awareness, delivering targeted education programs, and promoting a culture of strong AI governance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven leadership experience in AI enablement/governance, technology governance, technology risk management, or data governance within superannuation or financial services sectors.
- Successful track record in deploying and advancing governance frameworks for AI, data, or other emerging technologies.
- Practical experience conducting AI risk, impact, and ethical assessments, with deep understanding of AI lifecycle governance principles.
- Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, including ISO 42001, the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, and Australia's AI Safety Standard.
- Knowledgeable of Australian regulations relevant to technology risk such as APRA CPS 230, CPS 234, CPG 235, the Privacy Act, and Australian Privacy Principles.
- A strong grasp of Generative AI and machine learning technologies along with associated governance and risk mitigation strategies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capabilities at executive and leadership levels across risk, technology, and business disciplines.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related domains.
- Postgraduate certifications or qualifications in AI governance, AI risk, data governance, or technology risk are highly valued.
