Job Overview
The Engineering Technician will collaborate closely with their supervisor to maintain smooth functioning of the hotel’s equipment. This position entails carrying out routine maintenance tasks assigned by the supervisor and assisting the Engineering department’s team in other maintenance duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply strictly with team rules, management directives, and instructions from superiors.
- Observe safety regulations for operating equipment.
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of the hotel’s power, water, gas, heating, and cooling systems on a daily basis.
- Accurately review equipment operational logs and shift handover details in a timely manner.
- Inspect and perform upkeep of equipment and facilities within your responsibility.
- Implement energy-saving measures and monitor consumption levels.
- Participate in maintenance tasks across guest rooms, event areas, public spaces, and back-of-house zones.
- Conduct regular test runs of the generator to verify proper power generation and transmission during outages.
- Oversee preventive maintenance of fire alarm and protection systems, taking necessary steps against fire prevention violations.
- Maintain records for tools issued and used.
- Track and ensure timely completion of maintenance requests.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working shifts, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
- Perform any additional reasonable duties assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Knowledgeable about operational principles and fault diagnosis for large data center infrastructure including power, air conditioning, fire control, security, monitoring, and networking systems.
- Prepared to be actively engaged in shift-monitoring posts during both day and night shifts for extended periods, allowing study time.
- Strong sense of responsibility, teamwork ability, professionalism, and eagerness to learn.
- Motivated and proactive approach with a customer-oriented mindset.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving capabilities; capable of working independently.
