Engineering Team Manager - Financial Solutions

The Financial Solutions Risk team develops features that protect customer finances, fostering trust between merchants and their buyers. Our diverse and skilled team ensures a secure, reliable, and enjoyable end-to-end shopping experience, emphasizing scalability, robustness, and excellent developer tools.

This is a hybrid position based in our Dublin office, requiring onsite presence three days per week. The role reports to the Financial Solutions International Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide high-performing software engineers, helping them navigate complexities and uncertainties.
• Define team scope and strategically recruit a balanced engineering team capable of strong collaboration and performance.
• Support career growth of direct reports through consistent one-on-one meetings offering actionable and constructive feedback.
• Encourage and celebrate team achievements that nurture a positive culture and effective teamwork.
• Continuously assess and enhance team productivity and effectiveness as needed.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of local systems to drive sound architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to champion and implement an optimal product roadmap.
• Foster strong relationships across Engineering, Product, Design, Marketing, Data Science, and Business Operations teams.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 3 years managing product engineering teams comprising at least four engineers.
• Over 7 years of professional experience building and maintaining applications within large, collaborative codebases.
• Exceptional communication skills, able to translate complex technical topics for non-technical stakeholders.
• Solid technical expertise to understand and balance trade-offs involved in product engineering decisions.

Additional Information

The salary range for this role is €93,000 to €143,000 EUR annually, depending on relevant skills, experience, location, and other job-related factors. Eligible employees may also receive stock option grants.
