Job description
Role Overview
As an Engineering Manager reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will oversee a large Plant Services team, providing both strategic direction and hands-on operational management. Your mission will be to ensure equipment reliability, enhance asset performance, deliver capital improvement projects, and uphold sustainability and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and cultivate a high-performing team in engineering and maintenance.
- Enhance asset dependability, optimize plant uptime, and implement maintenance best practices.
- Oversee environmental initiatives, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Offer technical guidance and provide solutions to complex operational challenges.
- Manage repair and maintenance budgets, operational expenses, and capital project execution.
- Support strategic business planning, asset management, and continuous improvement processes.
- Promote a culture centered on safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 10 years engineering experience in manufacturing settings, preferably in food processing or tightly regulated industries.
- Proven experience managing engineering or maintenance teams.
- Strong expertise in asset management, reliability engineering, and maintenance scheduling.
- Experienced in environmental program management and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Competent in budgeting, project oversight, and capital expenditure management.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and maintenance management procedures.
- Holds a tertiary qualification in Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
