Engineering Manager

About the Role

ClanX is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop its software engineering teams in Pune. This role demands a seasoned professional with deep expertise in C#, .NET 8/9, ASP.NET Core, and microservices architecture, coupled with strong leadership skills to drive delivery excellence and technical innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and recruit software engineers to build a high-performing team.
• Manage roadmap execution, ensure sprint consistency, and oversee quality releases.
• Provide architectural guidance and design solutions primarily around .NET and microservices frameworks.
• Enforce engineering best practices, including code quality standards and implementation of quality gates.
• Monitor system observability through OpenTelemetry and relevant monitoring tools.
• Collaborate effectively with Product, QA, UX, and DevOps teams to align technological initiatives with business objectives.
• Oversee automation pipelines involving CI/CD, as well as container orchestration via Docker and Kubernetes on Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
• Manage service-level agreements (SLAs), service-level objectives (SLOs), incident responses, capacity planning, and cost efficiencies.
• Maintain hands-on involvement through critical architecture reviews, important code assessments, and addressing technical challenges.
• Champion adoption and integration of AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot and AI-driven code review systems.
• Set standards for large language model (LLM) features leveraging frameworks like Semantic Kernel and Microsoft.Extensions.AI.
• Guide teams on advanced AI concepts including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), intelligent agents, function calling, AI performance assessment, safety guardrails, and reducing hallucinations.
• Evaluate AI-driven designs with a focus on quality, cost-effectiveness, security, and observability.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Between 8 and 15 years of comprehensive software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years in managing or leading engineering teams successfully.
• Proficient hands-on experience using C#, .NET versions 8 or 9, and ASP.NET Core framework.
• Strong knowledge and experience designing microservices architecture, Clean Architecture, and domain-driven design (DDD).
• Familiarity with RESTful API development, GraphQL, and asynchronous system design patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, and nurture engineering talent.
• Proven track record in delivery management and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience working on complex product delivery with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Practical understanding of Docker containers, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and cloud environments on Azure or AWS.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes orchestration.
• Commitment to maintaining engineering excellence focusing on quality, observability, reliability, and operational best practices.

Location: Pune, Maharashtra - this position requires working from the office premises.
