Role Overview

We seek a Pune-based Engineering Director who is both a technically skilled builder and a team leader. This role involves close engagement with technology, including architecture and troubleshooting, especially in AI systems. You will lead a skilled technical team, ensuring delivery excellence and providing trusted technical guidance to clients in an agile startup context where adaptability and ownership are key.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, review, and resolve complex technical issues collaboratively with engineering teams, maintaining hands-on involvement.
• Apply extensive knowledge of AI technologies to enhance client solutions and improve internal workflows.
• Define technical standards and direction for development, testing, and cloud operations.
• Engage closely in detailed technical tasks such as code and design reviews and resolving production issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Lead talent acquisition and retention efforts for diverse technical roles including development, testing, support, and cloud administration.
• Cultivate an environment promoting ongoing learning, professional development, and leadership cultivation.
• Evaluate team performance, deliver constructive feedback, and navigate conflict resolution effectively.
• Mentor emerging leaders within the engineering group to build sustainable leadership capacity.
• Manage full product life cycles across client projects ensuring quality, schedule adherence, and operational effectiveness.
• Enforce stringent quality assurance frameworks and champion engineering best practices such as Agile and DevOps.
• Utilize AI-powered tools to enhance engineering productivity and optimize gross margin through efficient practices.
• Serve as a credible technical advisor for clients, regularly communicating progress and aligning expectations.
• Translate client business strategies into technical plans and detailed solution designs.
• Proactively propose value-added initiatives including AI-based innovations, modern technologies, and process enhancements.
• Drive client revenue and account growth efforts alongside technical execution.

Requirements

• 10 to 15 years of professional experience with substantial time spent in engineering management or director roles in technical capacities.
• Proven track record leading teams of 30 or more members.
• Strong preference for candidates maintaining hands-on technical involvement rather than purely administrative management.
