Job description
About the Role
We are seeking an Engineering & Cost Project Control Engineer based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to oversee and optimize project execution within a fuel station chain environment. The engineer will manage planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and reporting functions to ensure projects are delivered efficiently within approved budgets and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed project plans and engineering activities.
- Control project costs and monitor schedules actively.
- Assist procurement activities by providing relevant project insights.
- Identify and manage risks while handling change management effectively.
- Coordinate contractor activities and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Generate and maintain comprehensive reports for management and executives.
Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Tasks
- Daily: Track contractor progress, update project dashboards, and analyze cost reports.
- Weekly: Refresh schedules, review procurement status and invoices, and prepare management-level reports.
- Monthly: Forecast capital expenditures (CAPEX), report key performance indicators, analyze cost variances, review schedule performance, and produce executive reports.
Objectives
- Complete projects within the approved budget and schedule.
- Maintain engineering quality standards and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Apply value engineering techniques to optimize CAPEX.
- Reduce variation orders and mitigate commercial risks.
- Ensure on-time procurement of critical long-lead items.
- Improve project reporting and enhance management visibility.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project control procedures and governance.
Experience & Education Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in project controls, engineering, engineering procurement construction (EPC), or construction project management.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- A bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
Technical and Software Skills
- Proficiency in project planning and scheduling.
- Competency in cost estimation and controlling project expenditures.
- Familiarity with contract administration and procurement procedures.
- Experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD software is essential.

Bachelor's Degree
