Job Overview

This role is responsible for ensuring the readiness and efficient use of operational resources including personnel, supplies, and equipment within a mining environment. It involves strategic planning and coordination with attention to safety, environmental policies, and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate the feasibility of mineral extraction through preliminary surveys in collaboration with geologists.
• Identify optimal ore extraction methods considering factors like overburden depth, elevation, and geological characteristics.
• Review and verify recovery processes and consult relevant experts on machinery, facilities, and infrastructure such as access roads, utilities, and environmental protections or restorations.
• Estimate capital expenditures and operational viability; prepare budgets and control costs as mines reach production phase.
• Engage in negotiations related to the acquisition or investment in mining operations.
• Analyze environmental impacts including waste management, chemical handling, and geopolitical or cultural sensitivities.
• Plan resource allocation and labor equipment deployment in line with efficiency and safety standards.
• Compile and analyze monthly and annual production statistics for management oversight.
• Support and enforce company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, conduct audits, investigate incidents, and educate contractors on safety standards.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.
• At least 4 years of experience in mining engineering with exposure to various mining techniques and operations.
• Proficient English communication skills.
