Job Overview

This role offers professional support in reservoir navigation and geosteering to operational drilling sites, ensuring all drilling processes align with the well prognosis and execution plan. As a subject matter expert, you will provide guidance on geosteering techniques, horizontal well planning, and their practical applications. This position entails delivering both operational and technical assistance for ADNOC Drilling GeoSteering Services, including pre-job modeling and feasibility assessments, active geosteering support during drilling, and post-well evaluations with recommendations to meet client expectations. You will directly interact with clients to supervise onsite operations and guarantee delivery and quality assurance of geosteering outputs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Offer technical backing for reservoir navigation and geosteering operations, including pre- and post-well 2D data interpretation, modeling, and log quality control.
• Act as liaison to customers and present on reservoir navigation and geosteering practices.
• Oversee office-based 2D reservoir navigation and geosteering activities.
• Coordinate with drilling service teams and client personnel.
• Engage in post-well project closeouts.
• Manage designated special projects.
• Provide expert advice during planning, execution, and post-well analysis phases where geosteering services are utilized or considered.
• Analyze offset data to assess geosteering feasibility within reservoir constraints, recommending optimal approaches for success.
• Continuously monitor real-time drilling data, interpret results promptly, and guide directional decisions to ensure precise borehole placement targeting.
• Collaborate closely with client geological, geophysical, drilling, and completions teams for planning and carrying out horizontal well initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geosciences or related earth sciences field.
• At least six years of drilling services experience.
• More than five years of relevant professional experience in oil companies or well logging service firms, preferably in drilling or logging.
• Minimum two years’ experience as a logging-while-drilling (LWD) engineer, wireline engineer, or openhole log analyst.
• Strong communication abilities, including excellent verbal and written English, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills.
• Sound problem-solving capabilities with a focus on achieving results.
• Proficiency with relevant software tools for geosteering and drilling operations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of LWD and wireline logging technologies and their applications.
• Solid understanding of drilling processes.
• Experience working with real-time operational data and decision-making.
