About the Role

This position as a Tier 2 End User Systems Support Specialist is based in downtown Toronto with hybrid work arrangements requiring onsite presence three times a week. The role is within a recognized global financial organization known for its robust governance, stability, and commitment to technological innovation. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues affecting end users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices promptly.
  • Install and configure new computers, software applications, operating systems, and peripherals.
  • Maintain systems through regular updates, vulnerability patching, and routine checks to ensure security and optimal performance.
  • Document incidents, solutions, asset inventories, and maintain thorough records for troubleshooting and audit purposes.
  • Ensure all user devices are secure, operational, and consistently updated; manage hardware setup and software installations.
  • Administer system access rights by promptly granting or revoking permissions and assist users with access-related inquiries.
  • Support backup verification and storage monitoring tasks to safeguard data integrity.
  • Participate in technology recovery activities including organizing and conducting local recovery tests and updating recovery procedures.
  • Follow organizational compliance protocols, internal policies, and regulatory guidelines relevant to IT operations.
  • Coordinate with internal IT teams as well as external vendors for equipment servicing and technical support.
  • Perform physical tasks as needed including lifting equipment, working in an open office environment, and addressing support demands under occasional deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields is required.
  • Technical proficiency with Microsoft client and server operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, SCCM, VMware vSphere, and supporting infrastructure components such as UPS and HVAC monitoring systems.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in systems administration or desktop support, preferably within financial services.
  • Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating within a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and communication skills catered to supporting users with varying degrees of technical knowledge.
  • Strong time management with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and a focused attention to detail.
