Job description

Role Overview

Lex Exec is seeking experienced Employment Associates and Senior Associates in London for positions within prominent Employment teams, including prestigious specialist practices and major UK law firms. These roles are ideal for candidates with 2 to 7 years post-qualification experience (PQE), offering a range of opportunities at both Associate and Senior Associate levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing complex employment tribunal litigation cases
  • Handling senior executive disputes, employee exits, and negotiations
  • Providing strategic advisory services to employers
  • Conducting workplace investigations and addressing sensitive employment matters
  • Engaging in litigation on restrictive covenants and High Court cases
  • Managing restructuring and redundancy processes
  • Advising on employment aspects related to mergers & acquisitions and corporate transactions
  • Handling international and multi-jurisdictional employment issues
  • Dealing with trade union and collective employment concerns

Candidate Profile

The preferred candidates will have developed a well-rounded employment law practice rather than focusing on a narrow specialty. They should possess experience primarily from a respected employer-side advisory or contentious employment background.

  • Proven ability to manage cases independently
  • Excellent skills in drafting legal documents and conducting analysis
  • Confidence in direct client communication
  • Strong commercial awareness and judgment
  • Demonstrated interest in client relationship building and expanding practice areas

Senior Associates are expected to assume greater responsibility by overseeing significant matters, mentoring junior lawyers, and cultivating client relationships. The opportunities are suited for lawyers seeking higher-quality work, enhanced responsibilities, clear progression paths, or a stepping stone toward Legal Director or Partnership roles.

Additional Information

All discussions regarding opportunities remain strictly confidential. Candidates do not need to be actively looking but may benefit from understanding which Employment teams are recruiting and how their experience aligns with available roles.
