About the Role
EY is inviting applications for two Employee Relations Manager positions at the Assistant Director level, including one permanent role and one 12-month parental leave contract. This is a chance to join a dynamic team that supports a culture of high performance by addressing complex employee relations issues. These roles emphasize subject matter expertise over people management and are based in Perth with flexible hybrid work options across Australian and New Zealand EY offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior escalation contact for managing complicated and high-risk employee relations cases.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, General Counsel, and Talent Centres of Excellence on investigations, restructures, acquisitions, and sensitive matters.
- Work with organizational leaders to develop sustainable and practical solutions for delicate employee issues.
- Provide expert advice, guidance, and informal coaching to Employee Relations Advisors regarding complex cases.
- Participate in projects aligned to employee relations, such as legislative updates, policy formulation, and ongoing process improvements.
- Maintain work-life balance supported by a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership across diverse teams.
- Extensive experience in handling complex and escalated employee relations matters.
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment legislation and statutory obligations.
- Up-to-date awareness of case law, legislative amendments, awards, and emerging employee relations trends.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience applying employment laws and practices relevant to both Australia and New Zealand is highly desirable.
- A pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach to ambiguous and challenging problems.
- Capability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration within a specialist team.
- Effective stakeholder management and aptitude for navigating sensitive situations.
