Job description
Role Objective
The Employee Relations Executive will play a key role in assisting the Employee Relations team at An Post by supporting various aspects such as industrial relations, employee investigations, grievance and disciplinary matters, as well as contributing to policy review including human rights and sustainability reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in advancing employee relations disciplinary casework.
- Engage in employee relations investigations.
- Provide support to HR Business Partners on grievance and disciplinary issues.
- Support leadership in employee relations and industrial relations matters.
- Contribute to the review and updating of the Human Rights Policy in compliance with IHREC, EU Taxonomy, CSRD, and OECD standards including due diligence requirements.
- Evaluate and revise employee relations and HR policies to ensure alignment with current standards.
- Identify procedural shortcomings related to policy updates and formulate plans to address these gaps with progress tracking.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion.
- Maintain professionalism, impartiality, and adhere rigorously to company policies and core values in all tasks.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of HR and Employee Relations principles with the ability to implement these fairly and effectively. A qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline, preferably with CIPD membership, is desired. Knowledge of industrial relations will be advantageous.
Effective organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to juggle multiple priorities while meeting deadlines are essential. Integrity, discretion, sound judgment, and management of confidential information are crucial.
Previous experience in HR or Employee Relations, particularly in investigations, disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, or policy formulation, is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, including the ability to generate clear and professional documentation. Building and sustaining productive relationships with HR teams and stakeholders is critical.
Familiarity with human rights and sustainability reporting frameworks such as IHREC, EU Taxonomy, CSRD, and OECD is beneficial. The role requires comfortable research and application of policy information from diverse sources.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required. A valid driving license and access to a vehicle for some travel are mandatory.
