Job Overview
The Email Developer is responsible for designing, coding, and supporting the creation of responsive emails. This role requires expertise in HTML, CSS, and media queries, allowing the employee to independently manage tasks including design and programming aspects of emails. The developer is expected to estimate project timelines accurately and execute tasks efficiently while relying on existing designs.
Main Duties
- Collaborate closely with design teams, technical leads, and project managers.
- Create mobile-friendly advertisements and banner designs.
- Mentor and support fellow Email Developers to enhance their skills.
- Ensure exact alignment between implementation and design layouts.
- Develop JavaScript animations ranging from simple to complex using libraries such as Greensock.
- Customize code generated by various tools in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Optimize code for performance and minimal size.
- Ensure compatibility across different browsers.
- Commit to working overtime when necessary and stay informed about online marketing advancements.
- Maintain vigilance to identify and resolve potential issues proactively related to HTML email campaigns.
- Utilize software including Excel, Google Docs, Adobe Creative Suite, and MailChimp.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated 2-3 years of experience specifically in email development.
- Minimum 2 years of general development experience.
- Must present a digital portfolio showcasing dynamic email samples.
- Experience with digital development including landing pages and banners.
- Proficient in HTML and CSS development.
- Exposure to JavaScript and Content Management Systems such as Drupal or WordPress is advantageous.
- Experience in Quality Assurance using tools like Litmus.
- Familiarity with advertising platforms such as Salesforce and Engage.
- Proficient with Photoshop and Sketch for asset manipulation.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects under deadlines.
- Knowledge of modern web standards and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience with frontend frameworks and JavaScript.
- Comfortable using IDEs like Sublime Text or Visual Studio Code.
- Knowledge of CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS is a significant advantage.
- Experience with mobile and web template design.
- Graphic design skills using Photoshop and Illustrator are a plus.
- Familiarity with version control repositories such as GitHub or Bitbucket is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of W3C standards or quick adaptability to learn them.
- Exhibits independence, responsibility, and proactive learning to achieve excellent results.
