Role Overview
This role involves contributing to the manufacturing of Cargo security systems, with a focus on assembling mechanical and pneumatic subsystems and electrical component sub-assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lay out, wire, assemble, and install electrical and electronic components for mobile truck and fixed or gantry rail systems, including junction and terminal boxes, control switch panels, and CCTV cameras, following specifications using jigs, hand and power tools.
- Interpret drawings and occasionally schematics to guide assembly processes.
- Cut wires to specified lengths using wire cutters and insulate wire ends with plastic sleeves.
- Crimp terminal eyelets and wire lugs using manual or machine tools.
- Secure wiring to connection points according to layout plans.
- Wire accessories such as relays, circuit breakers, plugs, switches, and solenoids, installing them into electrical or electronic units.
- Perform functional and continuity testing on electrical assemblies, components, wire harnesses, and plugs using instruments like ohmmeters and test lights.
- Work with electrical systems operating at 240V and 415V; experience with Cat5 cabling is advantageous.
- Adhere to ISO standards during work.
Qualifications and Experience
- Formal qualifications are not mandatory; however, practical hands-on experience in a dynamic environment is crucial.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality production are essential.
- Prior experience handling 240V and 415V electrical systems, plus familiarity with Cat5 cabling, is beneficial.
