About the Role
Skills Group invites applications from skilled electrical professionals to become Electrical Trainers at our modern Highbrook campus in East Tāmaki. This role offers a great opportunity for experienced individuals from the electrical sector who want to transition into teaching, helping to prepare New Zealand's future electrical workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver compelling classroom-based and practical electrotechnology training sessions.
- Evaluate learner competencies and provide clear, constructive feedback for improvement.
- Create and update quality training materials and practical learning aids.
- Teach electrical theory, relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Keep abreast of changes and technological advances in the electrical field.
- Collaborate closely with fellow trainers to enhance learning programs continuously.
Candidate Profile
- Must hold current New Zealand Electrical Registration such as Full Practising Licence, Inspector's Licence, or an equivalent Electrical Engineering qualification.
- Preferably hold or be pursuing Unit Standard 4098 and Unit Standard 11551, with support provided for obtaining these qualifications.
- Extensive practical experience in the electrical industry is essential.
- Experience in training adults is beneficial, though not mandatory as training will be supported.
- Excellent communication and coaching abilities with a genuine passion for helping others grow.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with photovoltaic (PV) solar systems is a plus.
