Electrical Technician

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician for our Electrical & Automation department based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This full-time position requires a professional with 2 to 5 years of experience in industrial electrical work, especially in control panel wiring and assembly as per detailed electrical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform control panel and power wiring, along with assembling electrical panels according to electrical schematics and specifications.
• Interpret electrical circuit diagrams, wiring layouts, and control panel documents accurately.
• Wire components such as MCBs, MCCBs, contactors, relays, timers, overload relays, terminals, SMPS, PLC, VFDs, and other electrical parts.
• Complete machine-related electrical wiring tasks including cable routing, dressing, and termination.
• Detect and troubleshoot electrical faults within control panels and machinery effectively.
• Conduct thorough testing and inspection of electrical panels prior to installation and commissioning.
• Support engineers during machine installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical issues.
• Handle motor connections, sensor wiring, limit switch wiring, and other forms of field wiring.
• Ensure appropriate ferruling, tagging, terminations, and clear cable identification.
• Maintain wiring standards ensuring neatness and safety within electrical panels.
• Utilize electrical instruments such as multimeters, testers, clamp meters, and insulation testers as needed.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of electrical equipment and machinery.
• Adhere strictly to electrical safety protocols, PPE usage, and company safety policies.
• Collaborate with Electrical Engineers, Automation Engineers, and the Production Team for all machine-related electrical tasks.
• Maintain tool, cables, and electrical component storage along with proper housekeeping.
• Report electrical faults, defective parts, and material needs to supervisors or engineers promptly.
• Perform additional electrical assignments as directed by management or reporting managers.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possess ITI or Diploma in Electrical or an equivalent certification.
• Have 2 to 5 years of practical experience in industrial electrical tasks and panel wiring.
• Sound knowledge of control panel wiring and associated electrical components.
• Ability to read and comprehend electrical and wiring diagrams.
• Basic understanding of PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and control circuits is advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Well-versed in electrical safety practices.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
