Overview
A dynamic opportunity has become available for a driven Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and expanding engineering team located in Banbury, England. This role involves working within a contemporary and fast-paced factory environment where safety, equipment reliability, and continuous process enhancements are top priorities.
Key Responsibilities
The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be tasked with servicing production machinery, handling equipment breakdowns, and executing scheduled preventive maintenance to guarantee the ongoing safety, reliability, and operational efficiency of manufacturing systems. Collaboration with fellow engineers, operational staff, and team leaders to reduce downtime, enhance equipment performance, and support streamlined production processes is essential.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Completed apprenticeship or equivalent training as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer.
- Possession of a recognized Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent credentials.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Strong aptitude in both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
- Practical knowledge of working safely using risk assessments and compliance with lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols.
Additional Skills and Competencies
- Practical hands-on experience with fault-finding and maintenance in an industrial or factory environment.
- Good understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics systems.
- Experience in completing detailed maintenance, breakdown, and preventive maintenance documentation.
- Effective communication skills for teamwork and coordination.
- Proactive and dependable approach to maintenance activities.
Preferred Experience
- Prior maintenance engineer work experience within UK manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with PLC fault diagnosis.
- Experience working with electrical drives.
- Involvement in projects aimed at continuous improvement and enhanced reliability.
- Ability to source replacement parts or engineering services independently.
- Exposure to fast-paced production lines.
Working Hours and Shift Pattern
- 40 hours per week.
- Four-shift rotation: 6am–2pm, 8am–4pm, 2pm–10pm, 10pm–6am.
- Night shifts scheduled Sunday through Thursday; other shifts Monday through Friday.
