Role Overview
This full-time on-site Estimator position in Lakeside, CA involves generating precise cost forecasts for electrical projects in commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. Responsibilities include evaluating blueprints and specifications, conducting quantity take-offs, and assessing labor, material, and equipment expenses. Close collaboration with project managers, field supervisors, and clients is essential to define project scopes, explore value engineering options, and prepare bid documents. Additional duties involve managing bid submissions, tracking outcomes, updating cost tracking systems, and assisting with budget planning and change orders. The role demands strong organizational skills to maintain documentation and meet strict deadlines, while contributing to process enhancements.
Key Qualifications
- Exceptional analytical and numerical aptitude for cost assessment and budgeting.
- Familiarity with electrical construction techniques, materials, industry standards, and reading blueprints.
- Proficient use of estimating software, spreadsheets, and relevant computerized tools for bidding and cost management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
- Meticulous attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple bids promptly.
- Previous experience as an electrical estimator, ideally with a focus on Southern California markets.
- Understanding of regional building codes, safety protocols, and permitting procedures is advantageous.
