Role Overview
As an Electrical Estimator reporting to the Head of Solutions and collaborating with the Bid and Commercial Managers, you will prepare precise and competitive tender submissions. You will identify value-adding opportunities and mitigate risks in complex electrical infrastructure projects, contributing to the business's growth alongside seasoned professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile, coordinate, and deliver accurate tender proposals within set deadlines.
- Examine tender documents thoroughly to perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost analyses.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and valuable pricing.
- Recognize project risks, opportunities, and assumptions, implementing strategies to minimize commercial exposure.
- Design practical construction methodologies and innovative approaches to enhance tender quality.
- Perform tender reviews and quality checks to validate pricing completeness and precision.
- Work closely with operational and construction teams to align estimates with project delivery expectations.
- Lead post-tender client engagement, including presentations, negotiations, clarifications, and contract handover processes.
- Prepare detailed project handover documents and budgets for delivery teams.
- Continuously improve estimating processes, systems, and supplier databases through training and stakeholder collaboration.
Candidate Profile
- At least three years’ experience in estimating, project engineering, or construction management.
- Proven experience pricing projects of $5 million or above.
- Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure, civil construction, or utilities sectors.
- High commercial acumen and skills in risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with estimating software and digital take-off tools.
- Possession of a valid Construction White Card and Victorian Driver's Licence.
