Job description
Role Overview
An established leader in electrical services is seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join their expanding team located in Port Melbourne, Victoria. This role involves managing the end-to-end electrical tender process for a variety of commercial, industrial, and critical infrastructure projects in close collaboration with pre-construction, project delivery, and commercial departments.
Primary Duties
- Develop precise and competitive electrical estimates and tender proposals.
- Analyze project documentation including drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Conduct detailed take-offs for materials, labor, and subcontractors.
- Source and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Identify risks, exclusions, variations, and potential commercial opportunities within projects.
- Engage with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the tendering phase.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and other delivery team members.
- Support tender presentations, negotiations, and project handover activities.
- Maintain thorough estimating records and pricing documentation.
- Enhance estimating methodologies and help safeguard project profitability.
Candidate Profile
- Experience as an Electrical Estimator in an electrical contracting or building services context.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical construction techniques, materials, and installations.
- Proven experience estimating for commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or complex electrical projects.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Sound understanding of labor, material, and subcontractor costings.
- High attention to detail paired with strong commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Capability to handle multiple tender submissions and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering, trades, or construction are beneficial.
