Electrical Estimator

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team in Mackay, Queensland. This role offers a diverse workload involving close client interaction and engagement from the initial project stages up to tender submissions. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to preparing precise budgets and tenders for a wide array of mining-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed budgets, estimates, quotations, and tender proposals with high accuracy.
• Engage directly with clients to fully comprehend project scopes, needs, and expectations.
• Assist in pre-engineering phases and participate in project evaluations.
• Handle multiple tender opportunities spanning various sectors within the mining industry simultaneously.
• Ensure cost estimates are compliant with applicable standards, contractual terms, legislation, and budget constraints.
• Collaborate effectively with in-house teams to formulate competitive and practical solutions.
• Establish and nurture strong relationships with customers to support business growth.
• Contribute actively towards enhancing tender success rates and expanding business opportunities.

Candidate Profile

• Should possess either an electrical trade background or a formal engineering qualification.
• Hands-on experience working with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems, equipment, or plant installations.
• Exposure to or experience with electrical equipment specifically used in mining operations.
• Proven experience or familiarity with preparing electrical cost estimates, budgets, or tender documents.
• Excellent communication and people skills to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
• Customer-oriented mindset with strong relationship-building capabilities.
• Competent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
• Able to effectively prioritize and manage concurrent tasks in a dynamic work setting.
