Electrical Engineer

About the Role

We are actively seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to become a part of our Construction Electrical team based in Brisbane, Queensland. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be integral in designing and delivering electrical engineering projects through collaboration with clients, onsite teams, suppliers, and external engineering partners.

This position offers a hands-on approach to engineering, encompassing project delivery as well as participation in upcoming tender processes. You will have the chance to provide practical, innovative, and commercially viable electrical engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Create electrical project designs and prepare associated technical documentation.
• Offer technical guidance and support to clients, site personnel, and suppliers throughout project execution.
• Assist project teams by resolving technical issues and developing engineering strategies.
• Review engineering designs to confirm compliance with project briefs, specifications, and relevant Australian Standards.
• Coordinate engineering tasks to align with construction schedules and project timelines.
• Communicate and collaborate with third-party engineers, consultants, suppliers, and specialists.
• Support commercial activities such as pricing strategies, quotation preparation, and tender assessment.
• Provide technical input for cost estimation, budgeting, bidding, and contract scoping.
• Effectively present engineering designs and technical solutions to key stakeholders.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all engineering deliverables, maintaining budgetary constraints.
• Develop practical solutions for complex technical and project challenges as they arise.
• Manage multiple priorities efficiently while working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related qualification.
• Minimum of four years' professional experience handling low-voltage (LV) electrical systems and exposure to high-voltage (HV) systems.
• Experience with communication systems integration and design.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design processes, documentation standards, and Australian regulatory codes.
• Prior work experience in construction, building services, or electrical project environments.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities coupled with strong analytical skills.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with clients, contractors, and team members.
• Exceptional organizational abilities to juggle multiple deadlines and projects effectively.
• Competence in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with engineering or programming software is considered beneficial.
• A collaborative mindset with a commitment to positively contributing to team efforts.
