About the Role
An established international Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) consultancy is expanding its Irish team and is in search of an EHS Associate or Junior EHS Specialist. This full-time position is predominantly based onsite in Ireland, with 40–50% travel required within Ireland and occasional travel to the UK and EU. This role suits recent graduates or professionals with 1-2 years of experience eager to develop their expertise in Environmental, Health & Safety, Occupational Hygiene, and Risk Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform workplace environmental, health, and safety assessments as well as risk and exposure evaluations.
- Assist in occupational hygiene monitoring relating to chemicals, dust, noise, vibration, heat stress, and ergonomic factors.
- Conduct site inspections and walk-throughs to identify potential hazards.
- Operate specialized sampling and monitoring devices following training sessions.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports with findings and recommendations.
- Support various EHS audits, training sessions, and client-related projects.
- Collaborate closely with senior EHS consultants and project managers.
- Manage multiple projects while enhancing knowledge of EHS legislation and industry best practices.
- Spend approximately 60% of work time onsite, with remaining time divided between home-based work and project-related tasks.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a Level 8 degree in Science, Engineering, EHS, Occupational Health & Safety, or a closely related discipline, or alternatively 1–2 years of relevant professional experience.
- A strong enthusiasm for pursuing a career in EHS consultancy.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
- A proactive mindset coupled with eagerness to learn and develop.
- Full driving license is mandatory due to travel requirements.
- Comfortable with extensive travel within Ireland (40–50%).
- Experience or exposure to EHS, occupational hygiene, safety, environmental, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, industrial settings, auditing, or workplace monitoring is advantageous.
Training and Career Development
The successful candidate will undergo a structured training and mentoring period of approximately 3–4 months to build proficiency. With gained experience, there will be opportunities to specialize in EHS auditing, occupational hygiene assessments, advanced evaluations, and consultancy expertise. This position provides an excellent foundation for recent graduates or early-career professionals aiming to establish a sustainable career in EHS consultancy.
