Job description
Mission
In secondary education, Educational Assistants (AEDs) operate under the head of the school, supporting educational teams. They work under the supervision of the CPEs who coordinate the school life services and manage the AED schedules.
Responsibilities
- Oversee student supervision from arrival to departure, including recess, lunch breaks, and school excursions, ensuring their safety and welfare.
- Record and monitor student absences and late arrivals, contributing to student attendance analysis.
- Ensure adherence to the school's regulations and safety guidelines.
- Manage student detention sessions held on Saturday mornings.
- Lead and engage students in activities at the college and high school student centers.
- Participate in additional educational, sports, social, artistic, or cultural activities supplementing the curriculum.
- Assist in organizing and carrying out educational tasks in partnership with teachers; provide study and homework support.
- Promote a positive educational atmosphere by fostering respect, tolerance, and overall student well-being.
- Support the arrangement of examinations and competitions.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned by the department.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a high school diploma.
- Prior experience in youth facilitation or animation is beneficial.
Skills and Knowledge
- Familiarity with the Circular 2003-092 of 11/06/2003 regarding AED status.
- Understanding of the school's internal regulations.
- Proficiency in French is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of adolescent development and educational relationships, including the exercise of educational authority.
- Ability to foster trustful and attentive relationships with students.
- Manage student discipline effectively and appropriately.
- Apply internal regulations consistently.
- Competent in using professional digital tools.
- Organized and methodical work approach.
