Overview
Cactus Communications offers specialized language editing services to support researchers in effectively conveying their findings for successful publication. This role is suited for individuals with a robust academic foundation and a passion for engaging with advanced research while enhancing scientific manuscripts.
Key Responsibilities
- Critically assess and refine research manuscripts to ensure clarity, coherence, and readability while preserving the author's original intent.
- Verify that discipline-specific terminology, scientific conventions, and arguments are accurate, consistent, and tailored to the target readership.
- Enhance the presentation of complex research data to optimize communication and publication quality.
- Edit manuscripts to achieve the highest standards of academic writing, eliminating ambiguous or unnatural phrasing, and adhere strictly to journal-specific formatting and guidelines when requested.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- PhD in Public Health, Epidemiology, Community Medicine, or Global Health (mandatory).
- Demonstrated strong publication history with 5 to 10 or more first-author papers.
- Experience with peer review processes.
- Capability to critically evaluate study designs, methodologies, statistical analyses, and interpretations.
- Proven skill in critically appraising scientific content to maintain discipline-specific accuracy.
- Exceptional written English skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Prior involvement in scientific editing or academic publishing is an advantage.
