With advanced packhouse facilities in Te Puna and Te Puke, they rank among the leading processors of kiwifruit and avocado products. The organization prides itself on a collaborative, professional environment centered on increasing grower profit and valuing employee wellbeing.

Role Overview

The company seeks a proactive and meticulous EDI Assistant Manager for their Te Puna operations team. Reporting to the EDI Manager, this position is integral to managing electronic data interchange (EDI) operations, supporting the EDI/EAN team, and ensuring seamless and precise data transmission from packhouses to Zespri. The role demands leadership of EDI/EAN Operators and partnership with multiple internal and external stakeholders to maintain data accuracy and operational effectiveness, especially during peak harvesting periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guarantee accurate and prompt data entry from packhouse to Zespri systems.
  • Lead, train, and support the EDI/EAN Operators, ensuring compliance with procedures and data quality.
  • Confirm all packs are correctly bar-coded, reflecting accurate grower, size, and variety information.
  • Provide assistance to shipping and site teams to fulfill operational demands.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Inventory, Logistics, Site Management, Harvest Coordination, and Quality Control, as well as external partners including Zespri, AVOCO, and Yieldia to address and resolve data issues.
  • Support the EDI Manager with various projects and initiatives aimed at continuous process improvements.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and company policies rigorously.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in data management, inventory systems, or EDI operations.
  • Capability to train, supervise, and motivate a dedicated small team.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, especially during high-demand harvest seasons.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative communication abilities.
  • High accuracy in handling data entry and record maintenance.
  • A self-driven, solution-focused, and adaptable approach to work challenges.
  • Enthusiastic, positive, and energetic mindset.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours through the March to June harvest timeframe.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience within the kiwifruit or avocado industries.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business management or related fields.
  • Familiarity with EDI software, Radfords, or similar inventory management systems.

Why Work With Us?

  • Opportunity to establish and influence a newly created position dedicated to EDI operations at Te Puna.
  • Work within a supportive, respectful, and team-oriented culture.
  • Join a highly regarded, locally owned post-harvest company known for consistent performance.
  • Attractive remuneration package with health insurance and bonus prospects.
  • Scope for professional development in EDI, operational excellence, and leadership.
