Position Overview
The Early Morning Stock Associate plays a vital role in ensuring customers enjoy a positive shopping experience. This position requires proactive engagement in merchandise handling, store upkeep, and customer service duties, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and company standards. The Associate is expected to contribute across all store departments as needed to meet operational and customer service objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety by consistently practicing safe behaviors and maintaining clear pathways to emergency exits.
- Foster a welcoming environment by courteously greeting customers and fellow associates, maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Offer customer support including handling register transactions, answering inquiries, and promptly responding to customer service calls.
- Maintain store cleanliness through tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting high-touch surfaces throughout the facility.
- Uphold merchandise presentation standards by performing daily recovery and sizing of products and promptly restocking newly received items according to company guidelines.
- Adhere to loss prevention programs and policies, ensuring merchandise integrity and safeguarding confidential information and cash handling procedures.
- Utilize assigned equipment responsibly, including registers, PDTs, janitorial supplies, ladders, and rolling racks.
- Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions, supporting Ross’s brand and values.
Qualifications and Physical Requirements
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers, associates, and leadership.
- Basic arithmetic skills necessary for retail calculations.
- Physical ability to lift/push/pull items over 25 pounds occasionally and over 20 pounds regularly (stockroom duties).
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop extensively during the workday.
- Experience operating store equipment such as registers, PDTs, janitorial tools, and ladders.
