Job description
Overview
Join our Engine Rebuild Center team in Accra, Ghana as a Dyno Operator, specializing in manufacturing.
Key Duties
- Prioritize and test rebuilt engines efficiently by reviewing daily schedules and job cards to maintain production flow and meet delivery deadlines.
- Guarantee the accuracy of tests through comprehensive pre-test inspections and verification of calibration for test cell instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Ensure workplace safety by conducting engine safety checks, verifying personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance, and confirming all isolation points are secure before testing.
- Correctly set up engines for testing by mounting, aligning, and securing them per standard operating procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Operatively run the Taylor Engine Test Cell to perform load, performance, and break-in tests adhering to dyno quality processes and OEM standards.
- Monitor test data to detect engine performance issues, utilize mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to diagnose and address abnormalities.
- Maintain quality benchmarks by documenting Dyno Test Reports meticulously, validating outcomes against acceptance criteria, and escalating units that do not conform for corrective measures.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, uphold calibration compliance, and keep the test cell audit-ready and fully operational.
- Collaborate continuously with quality, maintenance, and production teams to report recurring problems and facilitate seamless handovers and re-test processes.
Skill Development and Safety
- Develop proficiency in operating the Taylor Engine Test Cell with emphasis on accurate testing, performance analysis, safety, and quality compliance.
- Leverage manufacturing knowledge to advance processes, equipment, and systems for increased effectiveness and productivity.
- Maintain a vigilant approach to controls safety, identifying and managing electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic risks, while following strict safety protocols.
- Enhance abilities in electrical troubleshooting and factory automation to diagnose control system faults, support automation projects, and optimize manufacturing techniques through technology.
Education and Experience
- Possess a high school diploma, secondary education certificate, or equivalent experience meeting applicable regulations.
- Have substantial specialized training and relevant work experience in related fields.
- Be prepared to obtain any required licensing related to compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations for the role.
Additional Information
- This position is full-time and based onsite in Accra, Ghana.
- A relocation package is offered.
- The role involves working in a shop environment with on-site presence but includes some flexibility.
