DTP Operator / Printer

Overview

Bharat 19 Express is seeking a skilled QuarkXPress Operator / DTP Designer to join their team for the Hindi newspaper, daily e-paper, and monthly magazine. This role involves designing and arranging newspaper and magazine pages accurately while meeting daily publishing deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Create layouts and designs for newspaper and magazine pages using QuarkXPress software.
• Arrange Hindi news content, including articles, headlines, images, captions, and advertisements cohesively.
• Ensure uniformity in fonts, columns, spacing, and overall page styles throughout the publication.
• Coordinate with the editorial team to rectify typing, formatting, and layout issues in Hindi.
• Produce print-ready PDFs and digital versions smoothly and efficiently.
• Meet strict production timelines required for daily publication cycles.
• Properly organize all editable files, fonts, images, and finalized PDFs for archival and reuse.

Candidate Requirements

• At least two years of hands-on experience in newspaper or magazine DTP work, preferably with Hindi publications.
• Proficiency in QuarkXPress is mandatory for this role.
• Strong Hindi typing abilities and understanding of Unicode along with legacy Hindi font systems.
• Knowledge of print production standards such as page dimensions, margins, bleed areas, CMYK color modes, and image resolution requirements.
• Familiarity with Photoshop and CorelDRAW software is preferred; knowledge of Adobe InDesign is advantageous.
• High attention to detail coupled with the ability to perform under tight publishing deadlines.

Other Information

• Work location is Ashiyana, Lucknow, with full-time office presence expected.
• Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and demonstrable skill set.
