Job description

Role Overview

This position manages a drone station as a standalone business unit, responsible for the aircraft fleet, a team of five pilots, customer interactions, and the site's profit & loss. This role involves direct accountability and hands-on decision-making rather than supervisory duties. You will be the primary contact for critical issues and responsible for meeting operational targets.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate all aspects of one drone station including the fleet readiness, pilot scheduling, customer queue management, and financial performance.
  • Coordinate daily flying schedules balancing weather conditions, aircraft availability, and demand to optimize operations.
  • Take comprehensive responsibility for site safety encompassing pilot fatigue, chemical handling, airspace clearance, and incident management.
  • Lead recruitment, coaching, and performance management of a team of five pilots and booking personnel.
  • Account to management for metrics such as drone utilization, revenue generated per acre, collections, and equipment uptime.
  • Resolve escalated issues from farmers, local government bodies, and institutional clients while maintaining relationships and policy adherence.
  • Prepare the operation for expanded services like surveys, surveillance, emergency responses, and drone air-taxi ground handling.
  • Ensure strict maintenance and spare parts management to maximize fleet serviceability.

Candidate Eligibility

  • Must hold an engineering or master’s degree; this requirement is strict and non-negotiable.
  • Strong quantitative skills to frequently perform calculations related to capacity, costs, and break-even points rapidly.
  • Proven leadership abilities with prior experience enforcing standards and accountability within a team.
  • Technical proficiency with drone technologies including systems, batteries, navigation, and payloads to confidently assess pilot decisions.
  • Fluent communication skills in Tamil and English, both written and verbal, especially for challenging discussions.
  • Willingness to be located in any of the fifteen districts served.
  • No previous work experience required; fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Compensation and Training

  • Annual salary of ₹1,000,000 with an approximate net monthly take-home of ₹90,000.
  • Comprehensive training covering the drone fleet, operational software, and safety protocols before assuming site responsibility.
  • Complete managerial authority over your station aligned with accountability for all outcomes.

Selection Process

  • Mobile number verification is required.
  • A 30-minute test taken independently on your phone.
  • Immediate test result notification.
