Job description
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide safe transportation for staff, partners, and materials to and from field sites, regional and district health offices, and meeting locations as scheduled by the Transport Manager.
- Perform daily and routine vehicle inspections including brakes, tires, fluid levels, and cleanliness; promptly communicate any mechanical issues to the Transport Manager.
- Keep detailed records of vehicle logbooks, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules.
- Assist with logistics activities related to malaria commodity distribution and supervision visits.
- Execute official errands such as document delivery and procurement-related runs upon assignment by the Transport Manager.
- Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and comply with GHS Transport Policy, protocols, and guidelines at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning official matters related to NMEP and GHS.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a valid Ghanaian driver's license suitable for the vehicle assigned, accompanied by a clean driving record.
- Educational attainment of at least SSCE, WASSCE, or an equivalent qualification.
- Have a minimum of three years driving experience, ideally within the public or health sector.
Competencies
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and familiarity with local road networks.
- Demonstrated safety awareness and defensive driving capabilities.
- Ability to interpret road signs, traffic laws, and navigate routes including remote locations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Exhibit punctuality, reliability, integrity, and discretion.
Additional Information
Location of work is in Accra, Ghana.
