Role Overview
The position involves supporting the maintenance of a hygienic, safe working environment in line with NHS National Cleaning Standards. The Domestic Assistant will be part of a team responsible for cleaning and domestic services at The Balfour hospital.
Candidate Profile
Ideal applicants will have prior cleaning experience coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, alongside a commitment to maintaining confidentiality, is essential. Experience in healthcare, as well as training in COSHH and Infection Control, is beneficial but not mandatory; full training will be provided.
Employment Details
The position is full-time (36 hours per week), permanent, and based at The Balfour. Applicants must be residents of the UK throughout their employment with NHS Orkney.
Remuneration and Benefits
The role offers a salary within Band 2, ranging from £26,696 to £28,988 annually. Residents of Orkney additionally receive a pro rata Distant Islands Allowance of £1,719 per year.
