About the Role

Howler Pets is a leading dog services center in Al Ain with an all-encompassing approach: professional dog training at all levels, hydrotherapy certified by ACRA, post-surgical rehabilitation services, an on-site Medical Care Unit designed like a human high-care facility, post-surgical medical transportation, emotional support dog breeding, and an active adoption program — all housed in a single facility. Our multinational, internationally qualified team communicates in English and Arabic.

We seek a Dog Handler experienced in grooming who is assured, composed, and passionate about working with dogs of varying breeds, sizes, and temperaments. This role involves direct daily interaction with dogs, managing them throughout the facility, and ensuring their well-being by maintaining their grooming needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle dogs calmly and safely across diverse settings including training, boarding, and rehabilitation.
• Deliver grooming services such as washing, brushing, conditioning coats, trimming nails, cleaning ears, and specific breed cuts.
• Observe and interpret canine body language and behavior; report any health or behavioral issues to trainers, rehabilitation, or medical staff.
• Maintain hygienic, safe, and comfortable spaces for kennels and grooming activities.
• Assist trainers, hydrotherapy specialists, and Medical Care Unit personnel collaboratively.
• Carry out daily duties including feeding, exercising, and supervising dogs in care.
• Support the intake process and handover of dogs admitted for various services.
• Participate in the adoption initiatives and welfare efforts when possible.

Qualifications & Experience

• Confident handler accustomed to dogs of all sizes and moods, from small companions to large working breeds.
• Practical grooming skills encompassing bathing, brushing, clipping, nail care, and coat maintenance.
• Strong comprehension of dog behavior cues, capable of recognizing distress and overstimulation.
• Experience working in kennel or boarding environments.
• Team-oriented communicator who collaborates with trainers, rehab, and medical teams.
• A commitment to animal welfare, valuing proper training and care to reduce abandonment and shelter intake.
• Residing in UAE or willing to relocate to Al Ain.

Preferred Attributes

• Knowledge of breed-specific grooming styles and cuts.
• Ability to speak both English and Arabic.
• Formal qualifications in grooming or animal care.
• History of employment in multifaceted service facilities like training, boarding, veterinary or rehab centers.
• Experience volunteering in rescue shelters or welfare organizations.
• International exposure working with dogs.
