About the Role
DP World seeks a Document Writer for a fixed 2-year contract at the Port Botany Terminal. The successful candidate will excel at transforming complex information into clear, practical documentation that supports Engineering, HSE, and Operations teams in optimisation initiatives. Collaborating closely with diverse stakeholders, this role entails developing and updating materials essential for day-to-day tasks, regulatory compliance, and knowledge transfer.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce top-quality documentation comprising policies, procedures, work instructions, manuals, reports, templates, guides, training content, and operational guides.
- Convert intricate information into straightforward, concise, and audience-appropriate language.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to organisational standards for branding, terminology, and formatting.
- Partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to collect, verify, and record accurate data.
- Conduct workshops, interviews, and discussions to capture workflows and requirements.
- Manage document version control along with registers and document management systems.
- Guarantee all documents comply with governance, legal, regulatory, and audit standards.
- Oversee review cycles to maintain up-to-date and precise content.
- Support document retention policies, including archiving and disposal.
- Review and refine documents for accuracy, clarity, uniformity, and practicality.
- Identify opportunities to enhance documentation templates, standards, and processes.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement efforts by advocating better documentation practices.
- Organise and maintain accessible repositories and knowledge libraries.
- Facilitate onboarding and training by supplying clear and effective resources.
- Ensure documentation is easy to locate, comprehend, and use throughout the organisation.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Communications, Technical Writing, Information Management, or similar field.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with document management systems.
- Preferable training in Technical Writing, Quality, Project Management, or ISO/compliance standards.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining policies, SOPs, procedures, and operational documents.
- Proven capability to collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to capture and clarify information.
- Expertise in reviewing and editing professional documentation for quality assurance.
- Experience working in dynamic environments with multiple competing priorities.
- Background in logistics, ports, mining, transportation, or related industrial sectors with emphasis on safety, compliance, and audits is advantageous.
- Ability to compose clear and actionable SOPs, manuals, procedures, and work instructions.
- Skill in simplifying complex concepts into clear, user-friendly content.
- Exceptional attention to detail alongside excellent proofreading and editorial skills.
- Knowledge of document control, versioning, and records management principles.
- Strong interpersonal skills focused on stakeholder engagement and effective communication.
