About Murphy and Role Overview
Murphy is seeking a Document Controller to join our Natural Resources team based in Dublin, focusing on gas projects. We operate across multiple countries managing the design, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of new energy networks and related facilities. Our expertise spans onshore/offshore oil, gas pipelines, gas diversions, and renewable energy assets supporting the global transition to net zero emissions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as the central point for all construction document control, ensuring documents are managed effectively and systematically.
- Execute document control tasks according to contract mandates and schedules.
- Handle obsolete, superseded, and withdrawn documents by retaining copies for reference while ensuring outdated versions are deleted, destroyed, or clearly marked to prevent accidental use.
- Maintain and manage the Common Data Environment (CDE) systems, including F Drive, Aconex, and Client CDE, ensuring continuous availability or proper transfer of information upon contract closure.
- Assign document numbers following specified numbering procedures laid out by JMS or client documentation standards.
- Review document metadata carefully to verify correct numbering, revisions, status indicators, titles, dating, page layout, headers, footers, templates, print setups, and required signatures before issuance.
- Conduct quality checks to fix typographical or formatting errors to maintain professionalism and legibility, ensuring documents remain valid and compliant.
- Manage document changes meticulously, linking updates properly to relevant contract documents.
- Support commercial administration duties onsite, such as monitoring allocation sheets.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in professional document control or administrative roles.
- Proficiency with IT tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
- Experience with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) like Aconex or ProjectWise.
