Distribution Manager

Overview

We are looking for a skilled Distribution Manager to effectively oversee the entire process of receiving, storing, and dispatching various goods. This position demands a leader who can ensure that productivity goals are consistently achieved while maintaining smooth and cost-efficient logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations at the distribution center, including inventory control, order processing, and managing transportation logistics.
• Guarantee prompt and precise delivery of products to customers or retail outlets.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance distribution workflows to increase operational efficiency and reduce expenses.
• Lead, train, and assess warehouse and distribution personnel.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to synchronize logistics with organizational goals.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Utilize warehouse management systems and logistics software for effective inventory and distribution oversight.
• Analyze performance data and prepare reports for senior leadership.
• Manage partnerships with third-party logistics providers and freight carriers.

Qualifications

• Possess a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Have over five years of experience managing warehouse, logistics, or distribution operations.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and ability to manage teams effectively.
• Understand supply chain processes and logistics industry standards thoroughly.
• Skillful in using inventory management tools and ERP software.
• Exhibit excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal capabilities.
• Capable of performing well under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma process improvement techniques.
• Knowledge of international shipping laws including import/export compliance.
• Industry certifications such as APICS or CSCMP are advantageous.
