Job description

About the Role

You will be a vital part of the pharmacy team within one of our retail locations, assisting pharmacists and healthcare staff to ensure the safe, efficient provision of pharmacy and healthcare services. Building strong connections with customers, listening to their health concerns, dispensing prescriptions accurately, safely managing sellable medicines, and advising patients to enable informed health decisions form the core of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescriptions while ensuring the correct and safe supply of medication including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and prescription collection.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals onsite to support and administer pharmacy services effectively.
  • Provide medicines advice and care to patients, escalating queries to the Pharmacist when necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to guarantee legal and safe dispensing practices.
  • Stay informed on innovations and operational processes within the store.
  • Assist patients in prescription management, supporting adherence and minimizing medication waste.
  • Engage with evolving dispensing technologies designed to enhance patient safety and improve workflow efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Completed NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Advisor qualification or equivalent, or have finished the first year of an MPharm qualification.
  • Must possess valid UK right to work; sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • Preferably have prior experience in community pharmacy settings.

Additional Details

This position is based in-store within the UK only; remote applications or those from candidates without verified UK qualifications and work eligibility will not be considered. Successful applicants must undergo pre-employment screening, including DBS, PVG, or Access NI checks depending on location.
