Job description

Overview

This position as a Dispenser involves working within the pharmacy team to support pharmacists and healthcare professionals in a retail store setting, ensuring safe and efficient pharmacy service delivery. The role is based entirely in-store in the UK; remote or overseas applicants without UK qualifications and legal work rights will not be considered.

Key Duties

  • Dispensing prescriptions carefully by ordering, labelling, endorsing, and collecting medicines to guarantee safety.
  • Collaborating with healthcare team members to assist in managing pharmacy services.
  • Providing patient advice regarding their medications and escalating queries to pharmacists when necessary.
  • Adhering strictly to Standard Operating Procedures to maintain legal and safe dispensing practices.
  • Staying informed of store innovations and complying with all operational protocols.
  • Helping patients manage prescriptions effectively through reliable repeat prescriptions and promoting medicine adherence to reduce waste.

The role offers exposure to evolving pharmacy technologies to enhance safety and patient interaction time. Ongoing training is provided to enhance healthcare knowledge, along with career progressions into Pharmacy Technician roles or store leadership.

Candidate Requirements

  • Completion of a Pharmacy Advisor NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification, or currently progressing with at least one year completed of an MPharm degree.
  • Valid legal right to work in the UK; sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visa is not available for this role.

Experience in community pharmacy settings is desired but not mandatory.

Compensation

The hourly wage starts at £13.92 and can increase up to £16.64 depending on the store location, with selected sites in London offering higher rates.
