Role Overview

This full-time, on-location Dispatch Rider position based in Lagos involves collecting and delivering parcels to various customers and businesses along specified routes. Key responsibilities include adhering to delivery schedules, verifying recipient information, securing delivery confirmations, and maintaining regular communication with the dispatch center. The role also requires proper motorcycle maintenance, compliance with traffic and safety regulations, and courteous interaction with all clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute timely pickup and delivery of packages according to assigned routes.
• Confirm recipient details and obtain necessary delivery proofs.
• Maintain constant communication with dispatch to report progress and any issues.
• Ensure motorcycle is well-kept and safe for continuous operation.
• Follow all traffic laws and safety practices to guarantee safe transit.
• Promptly report any delivery challenges or route deviations.
• Contribute to optimizing delivery processes and team efficiency.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated experience as a dispatch rider, courier, or in a comparable delivery role, ideally within Lagos.
• Possession of a valid motorcycle license and strong familiarity with Lagos roadways.
• Strict compliance with traffic regulations and safety standards.
• Effective communication and customer service abilities to professionally engage clients and colleagues.
• Basic record-keeping aptitude for tracking deliveries, collecting signatures, managing cash-on-delivery transactions if applicable, and reporting.
• Physical endurance to manage long shifts with frequent stops, maintaining reliability and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and adapt swiftly to evolving delivery priorities.
• Minimum educational attainment of secondary school certificate (SSCE or equivalent).
• Comfort with basic smartphone applications and navigation tools is advantageous.
• Experience in logistics or last-mile delivery service is beneficial.
