About The Role

Join The Hungry Tarpon Restaurant in Islamorada, FL, as a Dishwasher and become an essential part of our lively waterfront kitchen team. You'll ensure all dishware, utensils, and cookware are spotless and sanitized, supporting smooth culinary operations in a fast-paced environment by the water.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial dishwashing machines efficiently, including loading and unloading.
• Hand wash pots, pans, and specialty kitchen utensils when machine washing is unfeasible.
• Scrape, rinse, and organize dirty dishware, glassware, and flatware from the dining area.
• Sort, stack, and promptly return clean items to appropriate kitchen stations, ensuring seamless service flow.
• Maintain a hygienic workspace by cleaning washing areas, sweeping, mopping floors, and managing trash and recycling.
• Support line cooks and prep staff with light kitchen preparation and tidying during downtime.
• Handle dishwashing chemicals safely and monitor supply levels for detergents, sanitizers, and cleaning agents.

Physical Demands

• Stamina to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds, including dish racks and trash containers.
• Comfortable working in a warm, humid kitchen setting near water and dishwashing equipment.
