Position Summary

The Dishwasher role at Oxford’s luxury or boutique hotels is key to upholding outstanding cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen. Responsibilities include prompt cleaning, organizing, and restocking of all dishware, utensils, and kitchenware, facilitating smooth back-of-house operations. The role supports culinary and service teams in delivering superior food and beverage services across restaurants, banquets, and room service. Additional duties involve dish machine operation, deep-cleaning kitchen equipment, waste management, and assisting food preparation as needed, all aligned with Four-Star service standards and attentive guest interaction.

Primary Duties

• Maintain a friendly, guest-centered attitude delivering Four-Diamond level service during all interactions
• Efficiently sort, clean, dry, and store dishes, utensils, and cookware accurately
• Maintain dishwashing equipment, ensuring proper cleaning and water levels as per chef instructions
• Clean kitchen appliances including ovens and fryers under supervision
• Preserve cleanliness throughout kitchen, dining, storage, and walk-in areas
• Sweep, mop, sanitize tables, chairs, walls, and countertops regularly
• Properly dispose of trash, sort recyclables, manage compost, and keep these zones tidy
• Ensure kitchen handwashing stations are stocked with soap and paper towels
• Participate actively in kitchen production tasks assigned by kitchen leadership
• Adhere strictly to all relevant food safety, sanitation, health, safety, and emergency protocols

Guest Interaction and Team Support

• Warmly greet and acknowledge guests entering dining spaces, enhancing customer experience
• Listen attentively and address coworker and guest concerns with clarity and empathy
• Maintain confidentiality and respect in all internal and external interactions
• Assist other hotel departments with tasks as available
• Complete daily activity logs for shift communication
• Follow attendance policies and maintain consistent work availability
• Perform other hotel-related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED
• Previous hospitality or hotel experience preferred
• Required licenses: Food handler’s license and liquor server permits per state law
• Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
• Reliable transportation required
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Dependable attendance and punctuality essential

Physical Demands

• Frequent fine hand manipulations and repetitive hand/arm movements
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, and frequent exertion of up to 20 pounds for pushing, pulling, or carrying
• Physical activities include bending, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and walking on uneven ground
• Ability to work indoors and adapt to outdoor weather while performing job duties, including stairs navigation
