Job Overview

This full-time position is located at Delta Hotels by Marriott in Thunder Bay, Ontario. As a Dishwasher, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors. Duties include effectively washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, kitchen tools, and stored areas to meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing equipment and manually wash kitchenware using detergent and sanitizing chemicals in a three-compartment sink.
• Inspect cleaned items, return inadequately cleaned ware for re-washing, and organize clean wares appropriately.
• Handle and sort silverware, soak and rewash as needed.
• Manage garbage through emptying trashcans and maintaining dumpster area, including recycling duties like cardboard breakdown.
• Clean and mop assigned kitchen and store room areas efficiently.
• Receive deliveries, store perishable goods properly, and ensure appropriate stock rotation.
• Comply strictly with all safety and company policies, report hazards or maintenance issues, and complete required safety training.
• Maintain professional communication and foster positive teamwork for achieving shared goals.
• Physically handle tasks involving lifting, standing, reaching, bending, and other mobility movements within safe weight limits.
• Perform additional relevant duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications

• No formal educational requirement such as high school diploma or GED is necessary.
• No previous work or supervisory experience required.
• No licensing or certification needed for this role.
