Job description
Job Summary
We are seeking a Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to maintain cleanliness in a fast-paced food service setting by ensuring a consistent supply of sanitized dishes, utensils, and cookware. You will be responsible for washing, drying, and organizing kitchenware, supporting kitchen staff, and adhering to sanitation standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment effectively.
- Manually clean glassware and items not suitable for dishwasher use.
- Regularly empty and sanitize all trash bins.
- Rotate dishware to minimize damage and maintain quality.
- Clean and maintain dish storage areas.
- Strictly follow sanitation and hygiene policies at all times.
- Assist prep cooks and kitchen staff especially during busy periods.
- Perform designated opening, closing, and side tasks as assigned.
- Promptly clean spills and broken glass to ensure safety.
- Report sanitation or maintenance issues to the designated supervisor.
- Support kitchen operations to maintain workflow and meet deadlines.
- Notify supervisors about equipment issues or supply needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to stay positive and diplomatic in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with residents and the team.
- Clear communication across varied communication tools and channels.
Physical Requirements
- Capable of working in various physical positions including stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended durations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds using safe procedures.
- Endure prolonged periods of standing upright.
- Able to climb stairs and ladders up to 3 feet high as required.
- Good manual dexterity involving handling and grasping objects.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and wrists.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $17.00 per hour, paid biweekly.
- Eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package including multiple medical plans, dental, vision, paid holidays, time off, and 401k with company match.
- Full-time exempt status with occasional travel for training and company events.
